Greasley Parish Council is comprised of 15 elected Members. Parish Councillors give of their time voluntarily and do not receive attendance allowances. Elections are held every 4 years and the next are scheduled for 2011.
In the current civic year Cllr June Layton is Chairman of the Council. Cllr Neil Hutchinson is Chairman of the Environment Committee and Cllr David Taylor Chairman of the Finance & General Purposes Committee.

Meetings of the Council:
The Council operates on a monthly cycle of meetings. There is usually a summer recess in August. Meetings of the Council are held in the Committee Room of the Greasley Sports & Community Centre on Dovecote Road, Newthorpe and normally start at 7.30pm
Members of the public can attend these meetings, as observers. Space is somewhat limited so any group wishing to attend should contact the Clerk in advance and the Council will endeavour to move to a larger venue.
