Guided Walks Schedule for 2008

These walk details have been submitted for entry into the 2008 edition of the NCC guided walks programme and an abbreviated version to the Broxtowe Borough Council guided walks leaflet.

Monday, June 16th 2008, 6.45pm from Greasley St Mary's Church

Distance: 5.5 miles
Duration: 3 hours

Meet at Greasley Parish Church lay-by for a walk through Colliers Wood and round Moorgreen Reservoir.

Monday, July 21st 2008, 6.45pm from Kimberley Town Centre

Distance: 3.5 miles
Duration: 2 hours

Meet in Kimberley town centre to stroll along old railway lines to Nuthall, thru nature reserves back to Kimberley.

Monday, August 11th 2008, 6.45pm from Ram Inn, Newthorpe

Distance: 3.5 miles
Duration: 2 hours

Meet Ram Inn, Newthorpe to walk over old colliery site to Brinsley, back to Moorgreen via the historic coffin route.

LOST VILLAGE WALKS:

As part of the research into the Lost Village of Greasley a series of three walks was created. Colourful, illustrated leaflets detailing the walks are available free of charge from the Greasley Sports and Community Centre.
