The Lost Village of Greasley Project

It is a well documented fact that Greasley Castle was an outstanding example of a medieval fortified home. Many such castles attracted communities around their walls to share in the security offered by these buildings.

As a castle of significance, did any such hamlet grow around the walls of Greasley?

Intrigued by the possibility, a local team spent months investigating the legend of the "lost village". Their research is now published so that onlookers can draw their own conclusions.
